We spent the weekend in the beautiful county of Bath, Virginia. Located in the heart of the Appalachian mountains, Bath is home to natural hot springs, gorgeous mountain trails, excellent golfing and the infamous Homestead Resort.
One of our favorite spots to stay is the Inn at Gristmill Square, located in the village of Warm Springs. The Inn has 17 of the quaintest rooms and suites located in 4 separate buildings, arranged as if in a town square. Each room or suite is unique in and of itself, and each feels like you are home.
Our room was located in the Hardware Store. We had both a balcony that overlooked the main street and a gorgeous fireplace. What is even better is that the fireplace is fully stocked!
Now, if you are connected and wired in, rest assured that your smart phone, tablet and laptop will have access (if you really want it). And while I would recommend unplugging for a day or two, it is comforting to know that you can jump online if need be.
The icing on the cake…complimentary breakfast! They call it BIB, breakfast in bed. Upon waking, simply call the front desk and let them know you are ready for sustenance. Within minutes comes an amazing basket filled with coffee, juice, fruit, and phenomenal pastries: spinach quiche in croissants and cranberry scones, both piping hot!
If you are looking for a weekend getaway; a quiet place to unplug, relax and rejuvenate, than I highly recommend the Inn at Gristmill Square.
